Jean Hung, ND
Dr. Jean Hung is a naturopathic primary care physician and is completing her pediatric residency training with Dr. Doroshow. She has had a passion working with kids since she was a kid herself. She announced to her own doctor as an 8 year old that she was going to grow up to be a pediatrician and her heart had been set since then. She has volunteered in the Big Brother/ Big Sister program, as a camp counselor, educated children at the Pacific Science Center, and worked with mothers and infants going through domestic violence during her undergraduate research.
Dr. Hung discovered naturopathic medicine and functional medicine as a truly comprehensive way of looking at how we treat people. She treats all of her patients as a whole being, recognizing each child’s unique individual needs and providing them with the tools to be active and thriving. She incorporates nutritional therapy, botanical medicine, counseling, and physical medicine into her treatment plans and also uses pharmaceuticals when necessary.
Dr. Hung is well-versed in alternative vaccine schedules and working with families to address their individual concerns. She performs newborn exams, annual well-child exams, sports physicals, sick visits, birth control counseling, and focuses on preventative medicine. Jean also works with children who have asthma, allergies, eczema, anxiety, gastrointestinal conditions, autoimmune conditions, ADHD, and autism. Her special interests include the human microbiome, epigenetics and SNPs. MTHFR mutation, and detoxification.
Dr. Hung completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and microbiology at the University of Washington. She graduated from naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University and received her doctorate in 2016. She completed additional rotations at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Country Doctor, NeighborCare Health, Naturopathic Family Medicine, Mary’s Place (services for homeless women and children), and numerous clinics with both naturopathic physicians and conventional pediatricians.
Dr. Hung is a member of PedANP (Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians), WANP (Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians), and AANP (American Association of Naturopathic Physicians).
